Today I was able to finish up a little project that I've had hanging around for a while. In one of the books I received for Christmas, I found a photo of the rules for the servant hall of a grand house. I'd already retyped all the rules, but today I finally printed it onto aged paper and hung it up over my kitchen sink.
Last night, despite my initial doubts, I decided to add the white flowers to the Wedgwood vases in the music room. As Giac and a few others commented, adding more leaves helped a lot. But, just in case I change my mind down the road, I "potted" the flowers using a removable piece of Styrofoam.
Je bloemen staan prachtig in deze mooie blauwe vaas. Je wastafel hoekje is ook mooi geworden. Zelfs groene aanslag op de kranen :)

Good idea with the styrofoam, Eliza. I have often wondered how I'll keep my flowers up.
ReplyDeleteI love the Rules, they are great and the aged paper has really helped.
Hugs
Simon
Quite, quite lovely, the flowers and how they look. Makes me want to try some. I like your wall brackets too.
ReplyDeleteThe servants hall rules are MOST appropriate! I may imitate your fine example although I don't know where mine will be put.
And on reading some of those rules, they are not bad rules.....
I think the flowers look good with the foliage - I really like the white petals in the wedgewood vases - they compliment each other beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know what the poster says!

Dear Eliza,
ReplyDeleteThose rules on that paper are great and your flowers look better this way I think.
Great job.
Greetings Dorien
Hello Eliza,
ReplyDeleteThat sign is terrific. Such a great touch! You did a terrific job on the flower pots. they look very realistic and the stand out nicely, but also subtly, in the room. As always your work is perfect!
Big hug,
Giac
HI Eliza! Yes, your flowers now look wonderful inside this room! And this sign is just a gorgeous detail!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Sandra
I like these scenes. The rules are perfect in this place and the flowers are realistic.

What a good idea to frame the 'rules' and hang them over a sink. It is very interesting and attractive too.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers look great in those pretty vases. I love blue and white.
Eliza
ReplyDeleteI hope you will forgive me and consider it as "imitation the sincerest form of flattery" but I have copied your idea of the servants hall rules and posted a pic on my blog.
My rules are at least different than yours, I found one (from England) off the internet.
A great idea and one I had intended for Netherton (Small & Stately). It's really nice to see them printed off and hung. The sight of them above the sink means that no-one is permitted to forget them!
